Mario Raymond is a freelance lighting designer based in Kansas City, working across theatre, musicals, opera, dance, and corporate events.
He has designed and lit productions for Detroit Opera, Florida Repertory Theatre, Hope Repertory Theatre, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Hilberry Theatre, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, and Kansas City Repertory Theatre.
He has spent the last few years learning the world of live events. He has served as a Show Caller, PM, L1, L2, V1, V2, Stage Manager, and Camera Operator for a couple of companies in the Kansas City area. He has traveled all over the country doing this work and hopes to continue to grow his reputation.
Mario earned an MFA in Theatrical Design and Technology with an emphasis in Lighting Design from Wayne State University (2017) and a BFA in Performing Arts with an emphasis in Technical Theatre from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2014).
